There are no doubts that Group B is going to prove the most interesting for UK fans, with England and Wales having been pitted against each other, but with very good Russia and Slovakia teams also in the mix, we should see plenty of fireworks in all Group B matches.
Picking the most likely team to finish in the first place is no easy task, although England appear to have been rightly made the favourites. The Three Lions have shown a great deal of improvement of late, and they arrive at the Euro 2016 finals as the only side to have won maximum points in the qualifying campaign.
With Rooney, Wilshere and Henderson all recovering from injury and Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy scoring goals for fun, the Three Lions might just be able to finish top of the group and secure an easier match-up in the first knockout stage.
Roy Hodgson’s side could face stiff competition from the thoroughly impressive Russia side, who are finally realising its full potential under Leonid Slutsky. However, the problem is that Sbornaya Komanda will be without Alan Dzagoev, Yuri Zhirkov and Oleg Kuzmin, meaning they will not be at full strength in France.
This group is so evenly matched that the likes of Slovakia and Wales seem to have equal chances of finishing top and bottom, although the two teams are expected to be vying for the third place in the standings that does not guarantee a place in the next stage.
Repre have proved to be extremely tough to beat as they boast a hard-working side with a couple of stand-put performers such as Marek Hamsik and Juraj Kucka and they appear to be in better position than Wales.
The Dragons, on the other hand, have largely impressed in the qualifiers, but they are far too reliant on Gareth Bale and are missing a goalscoring striker, so we believe they will show some promise at the tournament finals, but, nonetheless, finish bottom of the group.
