Manchester City appointment to be made in ´next two weeks´

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has confirmed a new manager should be appointed in the next two weeks .

Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium as a replacement for Roberto Mancini, who was sacked after the club lost in the FA Cup final and failed to defend their Premier League crown.
While Al Mubarak indicated that a new boss should be in place sooner rather than later, he stopped short of naming any potential candidates.
We re pretty much done, he told City s official website.
We re very close. I expect to make an appointment probably in the next two weeks.
Al Mubarak also explained his reasoning behind sacking Mancini, citing a need for change as the main motivation.
Mancini guided the club to the FA Cup in 2010-11 and first Premier League title 12 months later, but was fired after ending last season empty-handed.
Al Mubarak stated that the board were grateful for what the former Inter manager had achieved after joining in 2009, but were keen to opt for a new direction.
I think we all felt it was time for a change. Roberto has done a great job for the club. He has won us the FA Cup and then a year later the Premier League, Al Mubarak said.
He will always be someone I deeply regard as a good friend and a great manager. But it was time for change. We need something new.
